Waterboarding: So What?

Call me an evil, heartless, close-minded conservative, but I have a difficult time understanding the ugly brouhaha over waterboarding.

Here’s reality: we’re fighting a war on terror against an evil sect of Islam that thinks nothing about using suicidal murders, misogyny and torture to accomplish its goal of someday having an world under Islamic rule. Frankly, if you research what these extremists do to their enemies and to any Jews who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, waterboarding seems very mild.

Now, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi denies being informed of waterboarding policies by the Bush Administration.

For those who are against this form of “torture”, I ask this: how else are we supposed to extract information that can save thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands if not millions of innocent lives? Wiffle bats? Tickling? Making them watch Baywatch? Making them listen to KISS songs?* Making them eat a ham sandwich?

Feel free to enlighten me…

* Not intended as a knock against KISS, but rather noting that two of KISS’ founding members are Jewish: Gene Simmons was born Chaim Witz in Israel to Hungarian-Jewish parents while Paul Stanley was born Stanley Eisen. And we know how much Muslim extremists hate Jews…

Did you not hear yesterday’s testimony by former FBI interrogator Ali Soufan? All the actionable intelligence we got from Zubaydah was obtained legally. It was only when we started to torture the guy that he shut down.
Torture is illegal. We cannot hold the rest of the world to a standard we don’t live up to.
As to Pelosi, she needs to sit down and shut up. A “he said she said” fight with the CIA is pointless, and potentially dangerous. I’ve called for her resignation.
