Joe Lieberman: Mr. Indecisive

During the 2000 debates, VP candidate Joe Lieberman disagreed with future VP Dick Cheney that our defense and national security had weakened under then-president Bill Clinton.

Fast forward. Lieberman is perceived by Democrats as being too conservative on the War on Terror and other issues. He’s defeated in the Connecticut Democratic primary for his bid to be re-elected as Senator. He then runs as an independent and wins.

In 2008, Lieberman endorses John McCain for president, saying he feels McCain would be a better president than Barack Obama.

Obama wins, Lieberman grovels to earn “forgiveness” among Democrats for supporting McCain (even though the Democrats had sold out Lieberman by not supporting his reelection bid).

Now, Lieberman feels Cheney is wrong to say our country’s not safer.

Does Lieberman really think that, or is this politicking on his part?

It’s really hard to tell. Whenever I see Senator Lieberman on television, he looks and sounds as if he just woke up from a nap.
