President Bush, how about clemency for this man…

Jason Kent.

He was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Story goes that he shot to death the father of his two stepdaughters. The Dad wanted unsupervised visitation (and possible custody) of the girls when there was evidence that strongly suggested he’d been molesting the girls.

Kent shot him rather than allow that to happen.

Justifiable? For those who say no, I wonder if they’ve ever felt fed up with a system that goes out of its way to protect the guilty while leaving the victims out to dry.

Meanwhile, Kent serves in prison in the ministry. He was beat up early in his incarceration, to the point where some of his teeth were knocked out and he was left bruised and bloodied.

President Bush has just done pardons and commutations…makes me wonder if Mr. Kent’s life sentence will be reduced to 25 years.
