What will become of Sarah Palin?

Gov. Sarah Palin

Gov. Sarah Palin

So, Gov. Sarah Palin returns back to Alaska to continue her service there. I certainly hope we haven’t seen the last of her.

I thought it was funny how seriously second and third-hand information can be taken. On FoxNews, someone who said they’d spoken with unnamed members of John McCain’s campaign team expressed concerns over Palin not knowing that Africa was a continent and not a country, her getting angry at times, her wild shopping sprees, etc. Folks, she majored in journalism at college. Studying journalism means having a pretty good idea of the world around you. I find it hard to believe she didn’t know Africa was a country. Instead, it sounds like a disgruntled person who would rather cast the blame on Palin rather than admit they ran a stupid campaign with too focus with working with partisan Democrats (something George W. Bush has failed miserably at trying to do) and in not attacking Obama’s inexperience and many of his questionable acquaintances.

If you’re reading this and you’re a person of influence in the GOP, please heed this: If the Republicans choose to nominate a wishy-washy moderate leaning candidate in 2012 and/or they try to dump on Palin and prevent her from becoming someone of strong influence in the party, then I will vote third party in 2012. The GOP with each passing day is looking less and less like the party of Ronald Reagan.

with any luck, she will stay in Alaska and fade into obscurity.

Funny, that’s exactly what I was hoping would happen to Obama if rationality had actually prevailed on election day.
