Hurricane Ike thoughts

I live in Michigan but consider myself, if you will, an “adopted Texan”. I was born in West Monroe, Louisiana, spent the first year of my life across the Ouachita River in Monroe, then briefly moved to Effingham, Illinois, then briefly to Medicine Lodge, Kansas, then seven years in Colby, Kansas before finally moving to Texas. Two years in Alvin (outside Houston to the southeast and near the Houston outer suburb areas of League City and Clear Lake City) and then the rest of my growing up years in Beeville, Texas. Beeville, for those unfamiliar with Texas, is in the Coastal Bend region about 60 miles northwest of Corpus Christi.

Talked last night to my oldest sister. Hurricane Ike missed that area of Texas except for some significant rain. Am glad.
